(AUGUSTA, GA.) — Belair Middle School will be closed on Monday, August 10, 2026, because of an issue involving coolant in the school’s air conditioning system.
The closure is necessary out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety and well-being of students and staff. Maintenance crews will continue to identify and resolve the issue during the closure.
The Richmond County School System anticipates welcoming students and staff back to school Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Families and employees will be notified if the reopening schedule changes.
The safety of students and staff remains the school system’s top priority.
