Our Story
For nearly 40 years, A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet School has been the premier school choice option for students with special interests in health science, engineering, and other STEAM related fields. Beginning in 6th grade, students are exposed to the fundamentals of engineering and healthcare to lay the foundation for the course path way they choose to pursue in high school. Not only do A.R. Johnson students learn valuable 21st century knowledge and some skills training, many students graduate equipped with industry-standard credenials and certifications that they can carry directly into college and the workforce.

Class Rank & Grade Point Average
An official class rank is compiled for each cohort at the end of the year. Averages are carried out to three decimal places and final averages are not rounded. Student’s grade point average (GPA) is based on quality points. Regular high school courses are on a 4.0 scale and Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and College/University courses are on a 5.0 scale awarded for each grade earned. High school student transcripts include the GPA, class rank, and numerical average. An official class rank is compiled for each grade that is computed at the end of the year.
