Mrs. Walker is in her fourth year as principal of A. R. Johnson. Mrs. Walker started her career in the field of education as a mathematics teacher at Murphey Junior High School, Augusta, Georgia where she taught from 1976 until 1981. In 1981, she accepted a position at A. R. Johnson Health Professions High School as a mathematics teacher and department chairperson. Mrs. Walker became Assistant Principal at Lucy Craft Laney Comprehensive High School in 2000 where she worked for two years. In 2002, she became Assistant Principal at Thomas Walter Josey Comprehensive High School where she worked until 2004 when she was appointed principal of A. R. Johnson.
Mrs. Walker earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Fort Valley State College in 1973. She earned her Masters Degree from South Carolina State University and her Education Specialist Degree from Augusta College. She has been married to Larry for over 35 years and they are the proud God-parents to over eighteen.
